Money matters
- We have an annual pay review which rewards individual performance
- We provide a pension scheme which we also contribute to
- We provide free life assurance for all our people up to the age of 70
- We reward non-sales colleagues who introduce us to a new customer. As you’d expect, these schemes are always under review and may be changed from time to time
- Once staff are ready to return to work after the birth of their baby, we help out with childcare vouchers
Health and happiness
- HSA private health insurance is available to cover medical and dental treatment
- All staff driving on company business have driver training when they join, and refresher courses ongoing
- We carry out risk assessments, identify the safest ways of working and train first aiders at each of our centres
- Anyone spending a considerable amount of time using a VDU is entitled to a free eye test. If you need glasses for work at a computer, we’ll put £55 towards the cost
- We offer all our people free, prompt and confidential support via ICAS (Independent Counselling and Advisory Service Limited). This doesn’t just cover work issues – it can be domestic and personal stuff too
- From time to time, we are able to offer free cholesterol and heart checks, provided by Flora
- And we provide breakfast cereals, organic fruit bowls, Fairtrade drinks and healthy snacks for our people
Onwards and upwards
- We help our people progress their careers through our annual appraisal process which includes discussing individual performance and preparing personal development plans
- We offer a range of in-house and external training programmes to fit the needs of all our people
- And we invite employees who’ve been with us for 10, 20 or 30 years to our annual awards lunch, where we present them with a gift they’ve picked themselves, plus a photo to mark the occasion
Getting together
- Our annual conference is a time to celebrate how well we’re doing and share ideas for the future. We also give out awards for extra-special achievements
- Dedicated teams working in three areas – Green, Workplace and Community – hold regular calls and meetings to gather ideas and shape the way we do things at pause
- Our “pause people” newsletter (in paper-saving electronic format of course!) keeps everyone well informed. And features great competitions too
